We were one life vest short for our trip (flew out of the truck) and tried to buy one from this shack. They didn't carry them but just my luck had possession of an old ripped up/faded/rotten life vest from buffalo river outfitters they would sell for the low low price of $10. Since they were trying to sell me a vest that wast theirs for 2x the retail of a new one I asked if they could rent it to me for $10 and I could sell it back for $5 to which I was told "you can always get one somewhere else if you don't like the price"
We use Gilbert store every year while floating the Buffalo River. Great people and service. Highly recommend. We put in at Tyler Bend and it makes for a wonderful day of canoeing!

Misleading information rented what we thought was a cabin (#3), it's a duplex, on our 15 year anniversary trip right on the other side of our wall is a Loud family of four! Who keeps slamming the door and stomping all over. That decided all the porch area and furniture belongs to them, so sitting outside is impossible. Not what we anticipated.There is NO VIEW HERE! The air conditioner is pretty much gone and it's humid as all get out. The cabin is dirty! There is a greasy substance on the night stand that I'm scared to touch. The floor is sticky and has sand all over. The spacula is hanging up by the sink, and right on top of it is the fly swatter! The bed is holy cow worn out or old idk which but we are not overly large people and my butt is almost to the floor! The middle sinks down dramatically and I feel like we are folded up inside of it, like a movie, more of a nightmare actually. We were going to ask for a refund but the store closes really early and no one is there. Hope there is not an emergency with this cabin. It sure isn't worth the $150 we paid for it. We asked the girls at the store where the best food was around, they sent us to a place 15-20ish miles away called Daisy Queen, a fast food place that was yummy and affordable, however when we returned we saw a sign that said

Typical ozark con men running this place. Everything else in the store was quadrupole the price it should be but stealing other people's stuff and reselling it at a premium is a little scummy, even for low life hillbilly trash.
